You know how, in the movies, young, ambitious martial artists are always seeking a legendary master to teach them?
Some spry old Asian hermit with a long braid and flowing mustaches, who lives on the top of a mountain?
Who will take them in, and give them chores, and speak in riddles…
And teach them everything from fitness, to focus, to emotional maturity, to the dreaded Five Point Palm Exploding Heart technique?
Yeah, that’s not me…
Sorry.
If that’s the kind of guru you’re looking for, then you’ve got the wrong guy.
It’s true, I’ve got the braid…
And I do live on a mountain…
But I’m pretty white.. Not that old..
I have no flowing mustaches..
And I’ve sworn that I would never reveal the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart technique to anyone…
(Except, of course, to attractive blond women named Uma.)
However…
You know how, in real life, professional fighters and athletes bring in highly specialized trainers to refine their technique and improve their performance?
Down-to-earth experts, with decades of experience, who are the absolute best at what they do?
Who will communicate clearly, expect you to have your shit together, and zero in on exactly what you need to compete at the highest level?
That actually is what I do.
And if you are looking for a trainer to improve your mental game—to help you with your contemplative practice, or meditation, or exploring altered states of awareness…
Then I’m the guy you want.
Who am I?
I’m assuming that, if you’re here, you’ve already read it.. But if not, here’s the quick version of the About Page.
Basically, I was just a normal kid who grew up in the Midwest…
(Okay, maybe normal is a stretch… but I wasn’t into anything deep or unusual.)
I wasn’t spiritual… I wasn’t religious… I wasn’t really anything…
But when I was 17 years old, I started having profound spiritual experiences after suffering a concussion in an icy parking lot.
Not warm and fuzzy experiences, like feeling peaceful and safe and happy. Crazy experiences, like the ancient mystics and shamans…
Lucid dreams, out-of-body experiences, strange vision states, formless awareness, nonduality—states that Eastern religions refer to as “enlightenment.”
I never bought into the traditional philosophies.
(Because I never could quit asking questions.)
But the experiences never stopped…
Over the years I developed a savant-like ability to perceive consciousness as a stream of shifting geometric patterns.
These patterns helped me look past the conflicting beliefs of the old spiritual traditions. And I could see that the sacred experiences of every faith fit together like separate movements in a single symphony.
I could see which practices worked, which didn’t, and why…
How to get from one experience to another…
I could even create new experiences, like composing original melodies from individual notes.
Now, 25 years later, I help people discover these Motions of Consciousness.
To move their awareness with the expression and grace of an artist.
To journey into deeper perspectives.
And turn spirituality into something you do; not something you believe…
You can do it too.
Here’s where I can help:
If you’ve been meditating for years, but you feel stuck… You aren’t seeing the results you’d like, or having the experiences that you’re looking for.
If you really have been putting in the effort, chances are you aren’t using the right techniques to get you to where you want to go…
Or you may be missing an ingredient or two…
The old spiritual traditions love to hand out partial recipes. And if you follow them strictly, you can fumble around for years, waiting for accidental success…
If you’re just starting out, and don’t know where to begin… You think you know what kind of experiences you’d like to have… But everyone says something different, and you aren’t sure who to believe.
Sometimes, when you’re right at the very beginning of your journey, you just need someone who will help get you started…
Who will talk straight… Tell you what opportunities are out there… Let you know what you’re up against…
Who won’t try to convert you into some wacky new religion…
And will just point the way to where you want to go…
If you’ve been practicing for a lifetime, and developed some reliable skills… But you’d like to add to them, or branch out into other experiences.
Most traditions emphasize one or two specific motions. The more you practice them, the more capable and consistent you’ll be.
Like rehearsing the same performance, over and over to perfection…
You can continue to refine your technique, like a dedicated athlete, looking for that next 1%…
Or you can head into unexplored territory, and develop the motions you’ve been neglecting…
Either choice has its merits…
If you’ve been experimenting with different techniques, and having sporadic success… But you want more control, and help understanding which practices produce which results.
This probably comes from following your intuition, and picking the practices that “feel right.”
It’s like wandering around the gym and choosing your exercises based on what feels good…
It’s better than sitting at home on the couch!
But if you only pick the ones that feel good, then you probably aren’t getting what you need. And you aren’t going to get the results you were hoping for…
If you don’t really care about all this spiritual stuff, but you want to improve your mental game in other areas…
Your consciousness holds the keys to some pretty far-out experiences… But it’s also the key to performing your best right here in this world!
In business… In art… In competition…
How much of your game is mental? How much of your performance depends on your state of mind?
So… what?
You’re going to train your footwork… and train your form… and train your swing… and leave the rest to chance??
If you’ve been trying to visualize next week’s winning lottery numbers, and keep coming up empty…
You know that everything is connected, and that the universe really wants you to manifest billions of dollars…
But for some inexplicable reason, The Secret just isn’t working!
Don’t worry… I’ve got you covered!
Actually, no… That last one is pure snark.
I can’t help you become an overnight billionaire.
But I thought I should let you know just in case you were curious.
And while I’m at it, here are some more…
Things that I don’t do:
Aromatherapy. Homeopathy. Holistic healing. Natural medicine. Vegan diet.
Interpret your dreams and visions.
Find your lost pet.
Find your true love.
Recommend the proper crystals.
Teach you yoga.
Read your cards. Predict your future.
Advise you on important life decisions.
Or provide energy work.
(Don’t worry. Statistically speaking, you are never more than 50 yards away from the nearest Reiki master.)
And, no, I don’t coach for free.
So what’s next?
Send me a message using the link below…
Let me know where you are/where you’re stuck, and where you’d like to be.
Be specific.
I’ll email you back with some available times to do a quick, 20-minute discovery call (using Skype or Google Hangouts).
The discovery session is free, and I’ll use the time to get a better idea of what you are looking for—and to determine if we’re a good fit to work together.
If I think I can help, we’ll also discuss rates, next steps and scheduling.
